Detailed 5-Day Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari Itinerary
This 5-day package begins with a wildlife experience at Murchison Falls National Park and culminates with a mountain gorilla tracking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Upon special request, you can start with gorilla tracking and end with wildlife watching.
Below is a detailed plan for this 5-day Uganda safari. Please note that the estimated driving distances could vary depending on factors like traffic and speed limits on certain roads.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Early in the morning, our tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park in North-Western Uganda.
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s oldest and largest safari park, spanning about 3,800 square kilometers.
Upon arrival at the park, you will embark on an afternoon boat ride to the bottom of the falls. Next, hike to the top of the falls.
During this boat ride, you will observe many animals drinking water at the river banks.
After this activity, enjoy a brief evening game drive before heading to your safari lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala
Today, you will embark on a morning game drive. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast and head out for an early morning game viewing drive at 7:00 am.
This experience will amaze you as you encounter animals like Giraffes, Lions, Warthogs, Leopards, Hyenas, and Kobs, among others.
Around 11:30 am, return to your lodge, freshen up, relax, and have lunch as you prepare to depart the park for Kampala.
After lunch, drive back to Kampala for an overnight stay.
Please note that it is not feasible to transfer directly from Murchison Falls National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on the same day due to the 10-12 hour drive, which can extend to 14 hours in unfavorable conditions.
Therefore, it is better to break the journey by spending a night in Kampala and departing for Bwindi the next day.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early for breakfast and set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South-Western Uganda.
Along the way, make a brief stop at the Equator for photography and at Agip Motel in Mbarara for lunch before completing your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into your lodge, relax, and prepare for a mountain gorilla trekking experience the following day.
Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Today is the highlight of your 5-day Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari. You will visit Uganda’s mountain gorillas in the dense forests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Your day begins with a morning briefing where you will receive information about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Uganda. After this briefing, head into the forest in search of the gorillas.
Upon finding them, spend a full hour observing and photographing these magnificent creatures before returning to the starting point to receive your gorilla tracking certificates.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala & Departure
Begin your day with an early breakfast and embark on a transfer back to Kampala. Upon arrival, proceed directly to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight home. Alternatively, you can be dropped off at any accommodation facility of your choice.
