Murchison Falls National Park is accessible by both air and road. It is a 1.5-hour flight or a 5-hour drive from Kampala.
Opting for a flight allows for a morning game drive followed by an afternoon boat ride, provided your departure flight is scheduled late at night.
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Early morning departure to Murchison Falls National Park. If flying, depart Entebbe at 8:00 am, arriving at Murchison Falls by 9:00 am for a morning game drive, followed by lodge check-in and preparation for the afternoon activities.
If driving, enjoy a scenic 5-hour journey with a lunch stop at Masindi Hotel, Uganda’s oldest hotel.
Upon arrival at Murchison Falls, you’ll be greeted by baboons on your way to the top of the falls. Witness the Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge before cascading down.
Enjoy an evening game drive and settle into your lodge for the night.
Day 2: Game Drive, Boat Ride, and Departure
Begin the day with a morning game drive lasting approximately 3 hours. Optionally, embark on a thrilling hot air balloon ride lasting 45 minutes to 1 hour, complete with breakfast and a champagne toast.
Spot wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, and waterbucks.
