Day One: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This is the first day of your 3-day Bwindi gorilla safari. Begin with an early morning breakfast and set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.
This drive takes approximately 8 hours, while a flight only takes 2 hours, allowing more time in the afternoon for light activities.
If you travel by road, you will have the chance to stop at the equator line for photography and coffee, have lunch in Mbarara, and conclude your drive to southwestern Uganda.
Day Two: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Wake up early in the morning and head to the park offices by 7:30 am for a short briefing meeting. During this meeting, you will be split into groups and assigned random gorilla families to track.
After the meeting, venture into the forests to search for and visit Uganda mountain gorillas. This gorilla trekking experience lasts from two to eight hours, depending on how quickly the gorillas are located.
Guides typically split into teams to locate the gorillas, making the trek shorter.
After spending a full hour with the gorillas, return to your safari lodge for a late lunch.
Day Three: Transfer back to Kampala
On the last day of your 3-day Bwindi gorilla tour, return to Kampala. If flying, enjoy a morning nature walk around the park while awaiting your afternoon flight. If traveling by road, depart early to reach Kampala in time, stopping for lunch en route in Mbarara Town.
