Uganda gorilla tracking safaris apparently reward the best value for money. The gorilla permits cost $600 all year round, which is $900 lesser than the $1500 price of Rwanda permits and $150 more expensive that Congo gorilla permits. Rwanda gorilla trekking becomes better in terms of accessibility and facilities. Tourists often spend two hours driving on a smooth tarmacked road to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. This is 6.5 hours shorter that the drive from Kampala to Bwindi. Congo gorilla trekking experiences are so far the cheapest and most undiscovered. Congo is still a mystery and not so many tourists travel there for gorillas. However, ever since Rwanda hiked their permits fees, tourists now prefer to go to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda or Virunga National Park in Congo.
Mountain gorilla tours are one of the most expensive types of tours you will ever come across. Permits are quite expensive; $450 for Congo, $600 for Uganda and $1500 for Rwanda. This alone already puts your safari high by that amount. When you add on other facilities and services like accommodation, meals and transport, you get to incur more costs. Choose a package that favors your wallet-size, duration and physical status. If you doubt your physical fitness but feel your wallet is huge, book a gorilla safari in Rwanda. The trek in Rwanda is very much easier compared to the one in Congo and Rwanda. This is partly because of the elevation in these respective parks. Gorilla hiking in the mud can be tricky. You get worried so often about sliding or getting rained on in the jungles. To avoid all this, schedule your gorilla trekking safaris for the dry season.
